June 1

Well, here goes. I am officially trying to change my life before I turn 35.  That's not too original. But, I turn 35 within 30 days and I've decided to act. Quickly.
You see, I work for the Death Star. Not the actual Death Star, of course. But I do work for a company so large, so all-encompassing and so vilified, I may as well have a picture of Darth Vader on my paycheck. So, I'm sure you understand why I don't want to reveal its identity. Anyway, this company is a misery (Misery!) to work for and I have had enough. Enough, I say! It's soul-sapping, sprit-crushing and stress-inducing.
SO, I've made up my mind that this process will begin and end in the month of June with the result being me, happy and smiling behind a desk with cuddly Ewoks playfully wrestling on the floor below.

Too much?

The first step in my pursuit of happiness was to do an online job search whilst listening to one of the most boring, nonsensical conference calls of my life. It was about creating reports to monitor more reports in order to make widgets that report to other report-making people. Throughout all of that crap, I found 7 job postings! So, my goal tonight is to apply to all of them. Well, after I feed the baby, bathe the baby, put him to bed and make dinner.

Oh wait! I forgot to tell you about the baby! I have the cutest little nugget of a son who I refer to as DoodleBug. I also have the cutest nugget of a husband, but I don't think he'd appreciate the "nugget" reference, so I'll just call him Babe. Not like the talking pig.

So, as Blog is my witness, I am starting the first day of my journey to days without abuse, nights without work worry, Sunday nights without dread and hair without gray! Ok, the gray is already there, but I won't have to rationalize the gray to my stylist any longer.

Bring it!!!!
